I am loyal to Noco Chargers for all my OHV toys but after reading a ton of reviews saying their Noco marine charger destroyed their marine batteries by over charging and making the acid boil out, I started looking elsewhere. I actually picked the Guest 5/5 charger because of it's color (matched my boat) and it also had great reviews. I've owned it two months now and keep it plugged into the shore power 100% of the time when my boat is not in use. So far, so good! No boiling or otherwise

Alex R.Destroyed a brand new AGM batteryBought this charger to maintain a new AGM GRP 31 battery for my genset. Ran it for several months trusting the lights showing it was just maintaining the battery. While installing another item in the lazarrette I got curious and put the multimeter to the battery and was shocked to see it was holding the battery at 15.6V in float mode! Disconnected and reconnected and it went right back to 15.6V. Replaced the charger with a Promariner model and load tested the battery. New $350 battery is down to 60% capacity. Miracle it did not damage genset electronics or cause a fire. Complete trash. If you
