    Skylight protective filters are valuable both to enhance clarity, especially for landscapes, and to protect the lens. Skylight filters worked extremely well with film, and work well with digital also. Given the greater sensitivity of digital sensors to infra-red however, this UV/IR cut filter is a significant step up. As a test I shot images with no filter, conventional skylight and this UV/IR filter, and indeed the filter proved itself.
