    The install was extremely easy; taking only about 15 minutes. The included directions are easy to follow; no tools are necessary unless the existing lock-nut that is under the toilet is a bit seized. Before installing or removing any parts, turn off your water pressure at the toilet and flush your toilet to remove as much water as possible from the tank. Any remaining water can be soaked up and removed with a sponge. I always get a small bowl, or use an old towel under the toilet to capture any other small amounts of water once I remove the nut that holds the valve stem. The new valve kit and

    I've never considered myself to be a handyman that could fix any plumbing issues and always called a plumber when needed. However, during his last visit to replace one of these same units in one of my other bathrooms, he showed me a trick where I could easily replace it myself. Like me, most people think you need to fully remove the old unit from the toilet; however, since the fill tube is in 2 pieces and the bottom section has no moving parts and nothing to wear out, all you really need to do is pop off the head unit piece from the lower fill tube piece and replace that only.
